Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil Super Facialist by Una Brennan

hello beauties!
I hope you are well! So sorry for not blogging in agggesss.
I have another cleansing treat for you. While the Garnier Micellar Water was more for me to remove my eye make up, this Super Facialist by Una Brennan Cleansing Oil can take off a full face of make up so quickly...I'm so impressed! With this a little goes a long way, so when pour a drop onto your hands and apply to dry skin. Massage in and then apply a warm flannel to wipe away the oil and make up and repeat until you have a super clean face!

While I didn't get on with The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Oil which is similar, I've really enjoyed using this as a first cleanse in the evening...pick it up and see what you think!

Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse

]

I trying to keep myself to a bit of a budget this year so I decided to check out some cheap alternatives to my usual favourite high end brands. This micellar water was on offer at Boots at the time so I thoughts why not give it a go?!

I will always favour Garnier for products like my favourite Garnier Body Repair body lotion but I must admit I'd never ventured into their skincare offerings.

I chose the Micellar water for Combination and Sensitive skin as I my skin tends to flare up at the slightest change in my routine. I apply a couple of drops to some cotton wool and swipe over my face and eye make up. At the moment I don't wear waterproof mascara, so I can't say how much it will remove if you do but I was actually pleasantly suuprised with how little product I needed to use and how soft it made my skin feel. I was expecting it to help remove make up but this was an added bonus! I go in with a cleansing milk or gel as my second cleanse to remove every trace of make up before carrying on with the rest of my routine.

Have you tried any new beauty products recently? Let me know in the comments!

The Perfect Two

For the majority of last year this perfect duo kept my base in check, Max Factor Face Infinity Foundation is medium to buildable coverage. This is perfect for me because as you know my skin has it's good days and its bad days that come without any warning. The matching primer helps to smooth over any imperfections so I let this sink into my skin after moisturising  before buffing in the foundation with my Real Techniques Foundation Brush. The finish is slighly matte with no shine seeping through throughout the day but without making me look completely grey! I've honestly never loved a foundation and primer so much...and so affordable! I love it!

What's your favourite foundation?

10 Things Tuesday: 10 Beauty Things I should do but don't.

1. Moisturising my body everyday. I know I should. I moisturise my face every morning and night without fail. However, when it comes to the point when I'm getting out of the shower, I don't wanna get cold!!

2. Rinse your conditioner out with cold water. This is apparently to make it shine more. I try to do this but again soo cold! Why have a nice warm shower, when you're just going to get cold rinsing your hair out!

3. Hand Cream... I know I should...but I don't everyday. I'll pay for it when I have wrinkly dry hands!

4. Water - We must all admit that we don't drink enough water. I know I definitely don't. On a good day I can manage about 4 glasses...but that's on a good day! (New Years Resolution,,,Drink More Water!)

5. Exfoliate. Enough said.

6. Eye cream...Its the one thing that if I'm tired I'll skip. Which is very bad considering my lack of sleep!

7. Not washing make up brushes, should be once a week...more like once a month. Eek! Time to get the shampoo and warm water out!

8. Body brushing - again standing around in the bathroom brushing away at my dry skin...I'm gonna pass.

9. Throwing away old make up - I'm a make up hoarder! (see up top for a helpful guide!)

10. Taking make up off properly, I should double cleanse but sometimes I don't...eek!

Hope you liked hearing from me on a Tuesday this week!

A Year On My Own...AKA The Man Gap Year

I’ve been writing this post in my head for a while now, and being the 2nd January it seems fitting to post it now.

I’ve been single for just over a year now which is exactly what I planned. As I walked away from a break up with my last boyfriend I felt nothing but disappointment…not from the relationship itself although a horrible one, but in myself. I knew in my heart that this was not where I wanted to be: everything that made me think this wasn’t right was also the reason I stayed, because I was terrified of being alone.

Let’s back track a bit, I’m one of those people who is always in relationships, from the age of 15 (maybe even earlier?!) I have had a boyfriend. Bullying, school and being a slight perfectionist has led me to a personality of low self-confidence, insecurity and being labelled as ‘shy’. This then points me to the fact that if a man gave me even the slightest indication that he might find me remotely attractive, I’d be all over it like a rash, in a bubble that someone, anyone would find me attractive. Quite frankly, it’s pathetic. So this has led me to a bunch of turbulent relationships in which I was relying on the other person to compensate the confidence that I lacked so very much.

And so as 2015 rolled in I made the decision to learn how to be on my own for a year, to work on my confidence, career and to travel but also to work on what defined me as a person  instead of being so desperate to find someone else to be defined as a couple. I called this my ‘Man Gap Year’ mainly to put a bit of a positive spin on it. While my family, friends and colleagues laughed at the title I gave it they could see that I had a point and were very supportive. Of course, I’m not saying that men were flocking at my feet (if only!) but more that I (perhaps selfishly) refocused and took some time to concentrate on me. I worked on my career, I made plans for the future for myself and as this was also my 21st year it all seemed to fit into place perfectly.

I’m not sure what the future holds, but I know that (cheesy as it sounds) I’ve started to find who I am this year and while I still have a lot of growing to do I know that I’m on the way there. If you are reading this and are tired of the same relationship or you’re in your early teens, don’t worry about it. Take a step back and evaluate what you want for you and create goals for what you want rather than waiting for something to happen.

Happy New Year!

Smokin'

Yesterday I popped into town to pick up some bargains in the sales. I also went to the Bobbi Brown counter, here I met two artists Hollie and Zara who created this smoky eye look on me. I can't say it's a look I'd wear everyday but it's definitely one for the party season? What do you think? If you get the chance to have a chat with the girls at the Bobbi Brown Counter I'd definitely recommend it, they were all really lovely and happy to recommend and advise without being pushy!
