Make Up | for me not for you

Have you ever been asked why you wear so much make up? Interesting question isn’t it. I never know quite how to answer. I wear make-up because I like how it makes me feel, it’s not necessarily because of insecurity. I love the fact that I can wake up and create the person that I feel like that day. There are always people that insist you’d look fine with less make up, some even seem to make it their mission to discourage you from the apparently ghastly world of make up…but what does it matter? A quote from Marc Jacobs once said ‘To me, beauty and make up and colour is like the finishing touch on everything’ and I totally agree. I love wearing make-up not to cover things but to highlight the features I’m happy with, make up is my hobby, my passion…and I enjoy it. It’s a craft that I can show off on my face, and I love that. So next time someone asks, I will simply say 'because I can!'.
